General Questions

Vitals4Pets is a veterinary monitoring solution that allows veterinarians and pet owners to track animal health remotely using a mobile application. It measures seven vital signs with medical-grade algorithms to support early detection, disease management, and overall well-being.

The system monitors:

  • ECG: Wireless recording of cardiac activity.
  • Heart Rate: Continuous measurement to detect irregularities.
  • HRV SDNN: Heart rate variability to assess stress and autonomic function.
  • Step Counter: Tracks daily activity and movement.
  • Posture: Monitors body position during activity and rest.
  • Respiratory Rate: Tracks breathing patterns.
  • R-R Interval: Measures time between heartbeats for precise analysis.

It enables remote monitoring, reduces the need for frequent in-clinic visits, and supports early detection of health issues. It’s cost-effective, non-invasive, and can be integrated into any vet system via API.

  • Check-Ups: Enhances efficiency in monitoring high patient volumes.
  • Post-Operative Care: Provides real-time alerts for abnormal vital signs, reducing manual checks.
  • Home/Holter Monitoring: Allows pet owners to monitor vitals at home with a take-home device.
  • Isolation: Reduces physical contact with isolated patients, minimizing disease transmission.
  • Veterinary Telemedicine: Supports remote monitoring for stress-free telehealth.
  • Sports: Helps coaches optimize training programs for competitive animals.
  • Breeding: Tracks physiological responses to exercise and health.
Pet owners receive a take-home device that records vital signs remotely. The device stores data for up to 30 minutes even if out of range, ensuring no data loss.
The system is designed for pets like dogs and cats, which are commonly affected by heart disease (1 in 10 dogs, 1 in 7 cats). It’s non-invasive and requires no shaving, making it suitable for various animals.

Technical Questions

The most frequent cause of Bluetooth connection problems is not granting necessary permissions in the tablet/mobile software. Ensure you accept location and nearby devices permissions when prompted by the Vitals4Pets mobile application during the installation, as these are required for stable Bluetooth connectivity. If problems persist, contact Vitals4Pets support for further assistance.

There are a few possible reasons:

  1. The device is in power-saving mode (deep sleep). If the device hasn’t detected movement for 5 minutes, it goes to sleep. Gently shake the device to wake it up so it becomes discoverable again.
  2. The device’s battery is empty. Recharge the V4P device and try again.
  3. The device is already connected to another phone or tablet. V4P device is discoverable only when it is not connected elsewhere. Disconnect it from other devices first.

The most common reason for firmware update failure in the Vitals4Pets system is that the V4P device is not connected to a charger. Remember to connect the V4P device to its charger before initiating a FW update.

A mobile/tablet application is needed for remote monitoring and data viewing. You can download the latest version from Google Play Store or Apple Store.

The system measures seven key vitals: ECG (wireless recording of cardiac signals), Heart Rate (continuous monitoring for irregularities), HRV SDNN (heart rate variability for assessing autonomic function and stress), Step Counter (tracks daily steps and activity), Posture (monitors body position during activity and rest), Respiratory (tracks breathing patterns and rate), and R-R Interval (time between ECG R-waves for precise heartbeat analysis).

The API enables seamless integration of Vitals4Pets data into any veterinary management system. It allows for the export and incorporation of vital measurements and reports. Specific integration details, such as endpoints or authentication methods, would require contacting Vitals4Pets support for a technical documentation.
